Cape Aloe

 CAPE ALOE known for tackling allergies and wound healing. There is a myth that exactly this Aloe has the power to prevent lightning frim striking around an environment it occupies. 

CLIVIA

 CLIVIA  also known  as Bush Lily is one of our more famous plants in South Africa.

It is resistant to pests and diseases and they are quiet costly. It is a nice name to give to a baby girl.

 CLIVIA pants continuously multiply overtime and they look beautiful when they blossom.  

French Lavender

 French Lavender has positive effects on wounds and I personally think they look amazing with that purple colour on top. With a lifespan of 4-5 years.

ALOE VERA

Say hello to "Aloe vera". Don't be fooled by its beautiful pattern, it is well known for treating constipation, helps heal minor wounds and has a protective effect on the skin.

I shot this picture at Shaka residents. Their garden is extremely fascinating and create a peaceful moment for students.

EARTH IS ART

 Plants enhances the look of an environment. If your house looks ugly, it's because you don't have a Lawn to Mown.

THE AFRICAN BUSH DAISY

Also known as " Ostreospermum". This flower

Is not just a feast for your eyes but it is also a medical ally. Particularly in traditional healing.

The African bush daisy originates from South Africa and we should cherish it.

MADAGASCAR PALM

DO NOT DARE STICK YOUR FINGERS TO ONE OF THIS AESTHETIC PALM TREES.

They sting harder than a sting bee . Inside the cream  white vase is a Madagascar palm tree. apparently, I learned that it should be watered once in every 2 years. It clearly shows that it can survive the desert. Male and Female standing side by side.

Sago Palm

 

NOTE : Poisonous to humans and animals

must have a permit to own one of these palms.

The Sago Palm in the black vase is an iconic  type of a flower which brought discoveries to my knowledge.  I recently found out that there are two types of it. A female and a male. I couldn't believe it , finding out plants have genders. 

Lemon Cypress

 What comes into your mind when you look at this tree?

If  a Christmas tree came into your mind when looking at it then i guess they really do look alike.

This is  Lemon Cypress. In case you were wondering,  it does not have direct health benefits but its essential oil is used for:

- Skin health (antibacterial) 

-respiratory health (helps clear airways and relive congestion).

WHAT IS A BOTANIST?

Botanists are  scientists who study plants, and are also known as plant scientists. I am not a scientist but my love and attraction toward plants and specifically flowers qualifies me to be a botanist.
